April 2024

A Note from the Vice President

Dear UMB Staff,

I am humbled every day to work here with you. Serving on the Board of Regents Committee this year, I was able to learn more about the work going on around me that I had never noticed. Following the Key Bridge tragedy on March 26, I am more grateful than ever to have a campus community that cares for human beings regardless of formal UMB affiliation; the outpouring of support I witnessed for those most directly affected reignited hope for healing.

With campus-wide and department-specific initiatives to uplift one another, I sincerely encourage you to participate – or perhaps even more informally, to learn more about and from each other. As your Vice President, I am here to support and encourage you: You matter, and we value you not just for what you do, but for who you are. Thank you for being my colleague, even if we have not yet met.

Sincerely,

Allison Deitz, LCSW-C
UMB Staff Senate Vice President

The Clery Act is a federal consumer protection law that requires all colleges and universities to provide transparent information about crime policies and statistics that occur on or near campus. Each year, UMB publishes an Annual Clery Report with three years worth of information, including crime statistics, security measures, the UMB Police Department's law enforcement authority, where students should go to report crimes, crime prevention programs, and resources for students and employees.

The map above shows the reporting boundaries for UMB. For more information on the Clery Report, visit the Public Safety website.
