Mission - To address the concerns of students from diverse cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis on students of African and African-American descent. - To serve as a forum to hear and address the collective concerns of students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. - To enable students of its members to network with professional students from all the various professional schools and programs at UMB. - To provide a support system for these students. - To develop professional leaders within the campus community who will serve as role models and mentors for our youth in the community-at-large. - To facilitate public discourse on pressing sociopolitical issues facing the African diaspora. - To showcase and celebrate the ethnic, cultural, and regional diversity of the African diaspora at UMB
Membership Benefits- All UMB students have the right to actively participate in all USAD events for free, unless otherwise stated. - Affiliate members who paid their dues may attend all USAD events for free, unless otherwise stated. - The right to attend and speak at general meetings, express their opinions, and contribute to decision-making processes. - The right to run for officer positions and vote in organization elections. - The right to propose amendments to the constitution and organizational policies. - The right to insist on the enforcement of the Constitution. - The right to exercise any other rights or privileges given to the membership by the Constitution.
