In a time when civic engagement is more important than ever, it’s critical to understand how to participate in our democracy beyond just casting a vote. This non-partisan Lunch & Learn session will explore a variety of ways the UMB community can engage in civic life—regardless of political affiliation.
From understanding the voting process to serving as an election judge or joining a local board or commission, this session will demystify how to make a meaningful impact in your community. We'll cover practical steps to get involved, share real examples from Maryland residents, and provide tools and resources to help you take action.
This session is open to all and aims to provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to become active, informed contributors to civic life.

To request an accommodation, contact ebony.nicholson@umaryland.edu at least a week prior to the event.
