In recognition of World Hijab Day 2026, The Hijab House centers this year’s global theme, #UnityInHijab, a call for solidarity that brings together women from all backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life. Observed worldwide on February 1, World Hijab Day invites communities to celebrate, uplift, and honor the lived experiences of hijabi women everywhere.

This program is designed as an open mic experience, creating space for students, faculty, staff, and community members to share personal stories about hijab and modest dress—how it connects to identity, faith, culture, visibility, and belonging.

Together, the open mic and panel dialogue reflect the spirit of #UnityInHijab, recognizing that while experiences differ, listening is a powerful act of solidarity.

All are welcome to attend, listen, and learn.

If you need accommodations to fully participate in this program, please contact dl-ssle@umaryland.edu
