There, There—Here: Native Life in Maryland

Inspired by Tommy Orange’s There There. The Student Success Center and the Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL) invite you to this talk featuring Keith Colston, Administrative Director of the Maryland Commission on Indian Affairs. The session connects the novel’s themes to present-day life in Maryland—history, policy, and daily experience—alongside a Lumbee regalia exhibit. Participants will hear about the Commission’s work across education, health, employment, and public safety, followed by Q&A. A limited number of books will be available; the Library will share additional reading and research guides.
