Caregiving—whether for children, elders, siblings, or chosen family—is often invisible labor that sustains households and communities while remaining largely unacknowledged in academic spaces. This session examines caregiving as silent labor and explores how care responsibilities intersect with coursework, attendance, time management, and academic expectations.

Through guided reflection and practical strategies, participants will learn how to navigate academic responsibilities alongside caregiving without framing care as a deficit. The session also supports students in developing communication and self-advocacy skills, identifying institutional resources, and reframing caregiving as a source of transferable strengths that contribute to academic persistence, leadership, and professional success.
