As Executive Director of the Baltimore Collegetown Network, Toni St. John leads efforts to attract, engage, and retain students and alumni across the Greater Baltimore region. She works to strengthen collaboration among the area’s colleges and universities while supporting students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the region as a whole.

In this session, Toni will share practical lessons from her work building partnerships across higher education, business, public transit, local government, and nonprofit organizations. Drawing on her experience in nonprofit management, higher education, legal services, fundraising and development, marketing, and strategic communications, she will explore strategies for building trust, connecting organizations around shared goals, and turning relationships into effective regional collaboration. Participants will gain insights, including approaches to cross-sector partnership building, stakeholder engagement, communication, and advancing shared goals in a complex regional environment.

Toni is a proud alum of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law at UMB and has lived, learned, and worked in Baltimore for over 25 years.
