Two WMS Team Trainings Added
Registration is open for two recently added mediation learning and developing opportunities. See the details below.
2026 Maryland Mediators Convention
A group of us attended the 2026 Maryland Mediators Convention on October 14. (picture above) The Maryland Judiciary delivered on it being, "a great opportunity to meet and learn with mediators of varying experience levels who come from around the state and beyond." I plan to schdule a time for all of us to gather and discuss what was learned and can be applied through WMS and even personally. See the Physical Safety Guidance document that Casey posted in the WMS Teams Channel.
Invitation to this Tuesday's October 20 Inclusive Listening Workshop
UMB's Ebony Nicholson, Civic & Community Engagement Specialist, invited us to a workshop facilitated by Erricka Bridgeford, Baltimore Peace Movement. Reinforce your Active Listening skills with this Inclusive Listening Workshop. Participants will explore how advice, opinions, and judgments can unintentionally contribute to conflict and escalation, and how listening for feelings, values, and underlying concerns can help people feel heard, understood, and respected, even during difficult conversations. This workshops directly relates to how we mediate and the time counts towards the annual training requirement.
